Appalachian

Break my heart.

Keep my soul; shadowed, under your worn and tired stones
Each hardened trail and twisted root-

Every halting step a piece of me

So many; these scattered moments left behind
gently dropped from feet – stumbling over rutted paths

Fantastic musings beckon from your hypnotic depths
As day dreamers fade to dew; lulled by sirens’ song
